Sarah’s CT head scan 'just to rule anything out' found brain mets

I'm Sarah, and I'm 57 years old. I'm a special needs teacher who loves spending time with family and our mad dogs, staying by the sea in our campervan, gardening and sewing my own clothes - often from old curtains and bedding
I was diagnosed with stage 4 EGFR+ lung cancer in 2024. I’d been experiencing fatigue, headaches and dizziness which I thought was the menopause. It was a CT head scan 'just to rule anything out' that found 6 brain mets, the two largest being 4 cm. The headaches were like nothing I'd ever experienced before - up the back of my head and worse under any physical strain.
Living with cancer has meant focusing on what matters most. I love my daily dog walks first thing in the morning, spending time with friends I have known for many years, and finding strength through my faith. Being able to teach part-time online from home has been a huge help, along with cooking, sewing, gardening and spending time outside or away in our campervan.
honestly thought I had menopause related illness. Even when I developed dizziness and balance problems, I was seen by a neurologist who agreed with me.
