We need your help to raise awareness that anyone can get lung cancer!

All You Need Is Lungs is a joint campaign from ALK Positive UK, EGFR+ Lung Cancer UK and the Ruth Strauss Foundation. Our message is simple: anyone can get lung cancer. All you need is lungs.

This year, for our fourth Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we’ve caught up with the volunteers who have shared their stories with us since 2023. Their updates show what life with lung cancer can look like now, and we remember the volunteers we’ve lost along the way.

Lung cancer can look like this.

Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. Around 15% of people diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK have never smoked, and symptoms can easily be put down to something else.

Know the symptoms: a cough that won’t go away, breathlessness, fatigue, a hoarse voice, chest, shoulder or back pain, unexplained weight loss and chest infections that keep coming back. If symptoms persist and there’s no clear reason, speak to your GP and ask for a chest X-ray.
