Kirsteen’s lung cancer diagnosis hasn’t stopped her living

The news was overwhelming, but I've always believed it's not over till it's over!

I'm Kirsteen, and I'm 56 years old. I work as a university lecturer, and my life revolves around the things I love most - travelling to new places, spending precious time with my wonderful teenage daughter, family and friends, and relaxing at home with my beloved Jack Russell terrier Tia.

When I received my diagnosis in 2021, it was stage 4 ALK+ lung cancer. I’d been experiencing a persistent cough and shortness of breath - symptoms that just wouldn't go away.

The news was overwhelming, but I've always believed that it's not over till it's over! That philosophy has carried me through the toughest moments and continues to guide me today.

My diagnosis changed my perspective on what's truly important, but it hasn't stopped me from living. I enjoy my work, cherish my travels, when I can manage them, and treasure every moment with my family, friends, and my faithful four-legged companion.

“The simple pleasures - like that perfect hot bath at the end of the day - have become even more meaningful.” - Kirsteen
